Adding your own pages [Article]

Thank you Joshua,
I was just wondering,which way of creating new pages is more SEO friendly,
1. creating new template and then displaying it via the show_page in the language panel.
or
2.Using the empt.tpl and then creating direct link in sitemenu to the relevant php file?
Sorry if the question is not up to standards for discussion, but for me these are 2 differet ways of creating new pages.
